Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes!

My cakes do not adhere to any specific event or celebration, therefore, I would be thrilled to provide a cake (and maybe some other desserts) for your wedding!

I cannot duplicate or try to copy another cake artist’s work, and I also do not work with fondant or sugar flowers.

Please browse the images of my work from the Lady Jasmine website and Instagram page to gather inspiration!

  • All Celebration Cakes are generally required to be picked up.

All Event Cakes can almost always be delivered to the venue for an additional fee. If possible, tiered cakes are generally assembled and decorated at the venue.

Delivery fees are subject to the time and mileage of the roundtrip to and from the event venue.

Please inquire via email or in your order form if you would like a quote for delivery.

  • One of the most common reviews I hear from the people who’ve ordered my cakes and other desserts is that they enjoyed them because they aren’t too sweet.

Everything I make is tested and tasted before going on the menu. This is to ensure that the flavors are cohesive and that the basic tastes (sweet, salt, sour, bitter) are well balanced.

    This ain’t no Safeway cake!

  • I ensure that all of the flowers I use to decorate are non-toxic and edible!

However, the flowers, petals, and greens may not necessarily be palatable. When coming up with my cake flavors, I do not take into consideration the flavors of the flowers with the other flavors in the cake.

The flowers and greens are intended solely for decorative purposes.

Please feel free to remove any flowers or greens before slicing the cake.

My flowers are sourced from local organic flower farms, and varieties are selected at random based on seasonality and availability.

  • Depending on the dietary restriction, more often than not, the answer is yes!

Please note that I am NOT a 100% allergy-free kitchen, therefore cross contamination for any allergy or dietary restriction is ever-so possible.

I take your allergy accomodation requests very seriously, and do my best to eliminate this risk as much as I can.

Also, I try my best to avoid adding any surcharge for accommodating dietary restrictions, however, certain and specific ingredients may require me to add extra fees.

  • When driving with the cake, it is best to place on a flat surface. I suggest the passenger floor. Take turns, stops, and accelerations slow and gradually, and keep your AC on if possible. My buttercream recipe is super firm when cold. Therefore, you should have no problems driving around with your cake immediately after pick up.

When not traveling with the cake, store your cake in the refrigerator.

About 60-90 minutes before slicing and serving, remove the cake from the fridge to take the chill off and let the cake come closer to room temperature. Buttercream especially has optimal flavor release when it has time to soften up. You’ll also find, too, that slicing will be easier.

After slicing and serving, cover any left overs and store back in the fridge. If refrigerated properly, I suggest that cakes can be enjoyed up to 3 days after pick up.

  • Funfetti cake?

    No.

    Red Velvet?

    Sorry.

    “Death by Chocolate”?

    Nope.

    Rainbow cake?

I’m gay too, but still the answer is no.

I’m not hatin’ on some of these classics, I’m just saying that all of my cakes push the boundaries of what many people think cake flavors are limited to!

Also, I will never ever use food dyes or artificial flavors in my cakes.

  • If the items you would like to order are all for the same pick up date and time, there is no need to fill out more than one order form.

Please list the other items you would like to add in the text box at the end of the order form.

Please fill out a separate order form only if the additional items you want are for a different pick up date and time.
