Lady Jasmine x Cake Picnic x Ghirardelli
For our San Francisco Cake Picnic, I had the opportunity to partner with Ghirardelli to bring even more joy, creativity, and sweetness to the event. With 173 years of chocolate history rooted in San Francisco, Ghirardelli felt like such a meaningful partner for this tour stop — not only because of their iconic connection to the city, but because their products are part of so many people’s baking memories.
Together, we created an experience that made the day feel more generous and celebratory for all 2,068 attendees. Ghirardelli helped make the picnic A Bite Better™ by providing cake servers for everyone, sharing samples of their newest Dubai Style Chocolate, sending guests home with hot cocoa mix, and supporting featured bakers like Lady Jasmine Cakes and Spattles Cakes in creating Ghirardelli-inspired cakes for the community to enjoy.
One of my favorite parts of the collaboration was seeing how many bakers brought Ghirardelli into their own creations. The picnic was filled with some of the best chocolate cakes we’ve seen on the tour, and it was amazing to watch the brand become part of the day in such an organic, joyful way.
For my own cake, I wanted to showcase the depth and versatility of Ghirardelli’s baking ingredients. I created a plant-based whole wheat chocolate cake using Ghirardelli 100% Cocoa Powder, layered it with a hojicha tea–infused ganache made with their 52% non-dairy dark chocolate chips, and finished it with a silky Swiss meringue buttercream crafted from their 100% baking bar.
This partnership was a sweet reminder that every great creation starts with great ingredients — but also with intention. Ghirardelli didn’t just show up as a sponsor; they helped us create a shared experience that felt warm, abundant, and deeply connected to the spirit of Cake Picnic.
At its heart, this project was about creating a moment people could taste, remember, and share. It brought together a beloved San Francisco chocolate brand, thousands of cake lovers, and a community of bakers who showed just how much magic can happen when creativity and generosity are part of the recipe.
