We worked with Dominick for our wedding and couldn’t be happier we did. Our events were dinner parties, so giving our guests a memorable, Californian food experience was a top priority for us. We discovered Lady Jasmine on Instagram after searching for a while for the right pastry chef for our wedding cake. He previously worked at the restaurant we got engaged at, and we loved that connection and knew he must be talented.
We started with a custom cake tasting, which was definitely a highlight of our wedding planning. Dominick worked with us to craft a menu of custom flavors based on our preferences and what was in season, resulting in creative and unique combinations. We loved every flavor we tried — choosing a favorite was the hardest part. One thing we appreciated about every flavor we tried was how well-balanced they were and that nothing was too sweet. After tasting how delicious his cakes were, we knew we wanted him to make our desserts for our first night's dinner party, too.
We decided to do a long sheet cake and a dome cake, and had a specific aesthetic in mind for how we wanted the cakes to be decorated. Dominick took our inspiration photos and worked with our florist to bring our vision to life and exceeded all expectations. It was his first time making a long sheet cake and decorating in that style, but he was so receptive and enthusiastic about trying something new and it was so fun to see his creativity come to life. Our cake was truly a work of art. It was a centerpiece and conversation starter throughout the evening.
Both nights we received countless compliments from our guests asking who made our desserts (one guest even asked if they could get the recipe lol). From start to finish, Dominick made the entire process enjoyable and effortless. Beyond being an incredibly talented pastry chef, Dominick is also an extremely professional business owner.
